Members and non-members can request that printed materials be mailed to your institution. Materials are being updated and added frequently, so please check back often.
The following is a list of publications that ICPSR publishes on a recurring basis.
ICPSR Annual Report
ICPSR's 2006-2007 Annual Report (PDF 1.1MB) features the theme "Our Diverse Community." The report highlights the new Minority Data Resource Center; educational programs, including our first Undergraduate Research Paper Competition; community-building activities undertaken by staff; and innovations in technology. ICPSR Director Myron Gutmann and Council Chair Ruth Peterson report on the organization's achievements and the valuable addition of new leadership over the year. Also included are the end-of-year financial summary, membership information, research insights, and a farewell to two long-serving staff members.
ICPSR Bulletin
The ICPSR Bulletin is published three times a year. The fall and spring editions contain feature articles of interest to the social science community and announcements about people and events at ICPSR. The summer Special Edition (PDF 736K) includes the first prize papers from ICPSR's and MDRC's annual Undergraduate Research Paper Competitions. See the most recent issue (PDF 228K) or browse past issues, which go as far back as January 1976.
Guide to Social Science Data Preparation and Archiving, 3rd Edition
The Third Edition (PDF 1.3MB) retains many of the key concepts from the previous two volumes and brings it up to date by discussing new tools and standards, and by emphasizing the life cycle approach to research data. The Guide is also available in Japanese translation through the University of Tokyo, Institute of Social Sciences, Social Sciences Japan Data Archive.
ICPSR Handbook for Official Representatives
The Handbook for Official Representatives outlines the roles and responsibilities of the Official Representative as well as provides an in-depth orientation to ICPSR data services.
ICPSR has created a number of promotional materials to assist institutions in promoting ICPSR. Materials include email and newsletter templates, brochures and posters, and presentation templates.
The ICPSR Media Kit is a collection of materials that institutions can use on their campus to promote ICPSR across librarians, faculty, and students. In addition to brochures and templates, the kit contains ready-to-go materials that can be used to conduct workshops on use of ICPSR resources. The kit includes workshop planning suggestions and checklists, workshop promotional materials, and workshop presentations that can be customized to your institution.
