Data User Help Center

Welcome to the ICPSR Data User Help Center! This resource provides a variety of tutorials designed to help you with using ICPSR data and related resources.

While the help center is still under construction and will undergo continuous updating, its overall goal is to provide data users with comprehensive answers to the most common problems they experience when working with ICPSR data and related resources. Moreover, the help center provides several media options to accommodate different learning styles including those who learn best by using video, audio, or print-out instructions.

• Finding and Downloading ICPSR Data

  Provides instructions on searching for data in ICPSR and its special topic archives as well as tutorials on how to download data directly to your computer, including an explanation of the MyData registration system.

• Using Data - Some tutorials now available!

  Provides narratives on how to read/import data into various statistical software programs including SPSS, SAS, and Stata, and an orientation to using online analysis software such as SDA. Also provides directions on how to find help locally on your campus.
